Join the vibrant team at Legacy Community Health as a Bilingual English/Spanish Pediatric Medical Assistant at our Southwest Clinic (6441 High Star Dr.) in Houston, TX. In this key role, you will be at the forefront of providing compassionate care and supporting our dedicated healthcare providers in delivering high-quality pediatric services. Your efforts will not only streamline clinical operations but also significantly impact the lives of families within the community. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct patient interviews to obtain essential medical information and accurately measure vital signs, height, and weight for medical records.
  • Expertly collect and log blood, tissue, or other laboratory specimens, ensuring they are prepared meticulously for testing.
  • Support physicians in examining and treating pediatric patients by providing the necessary instruments and assistance, such as administering injections and removing sutures.
  • Prepare treatment rooms meticulously to ensure a neat and welcoming environment for patient examinations, promoting a professional and caring atmosphere.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sterilization of medical instruments, and responsibly dispose of contaminated supplies to uphold safety standards.
  • Engage in informative phone consultations with clients to discuss test results and address health concerns, imparting critical information with clarity and empathy.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent, setting the foundational knowledge for effective medical assistance.
  • Certified Medical Assistant or relevant certificate, demonstrating professional proficiency and commitment to patient care.
  • Basic Life Support certification, underlining essential emergency response skills.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish, essential for effectively communicating with and supporting a diverse patient population.
